The SurveyLang Item Authoring Tool is a software developed to assist item writers in their efforts to create tasks and items for the European Survey on Language Competencies (ESLC). The software is a component of an integrated suite of tools developed to support the various stages in the development and delivery of the survey.
The Item Authoring Tool is a client running on the item writers desktop. It can run in offline mode and store tasks on local hard drives. But it can also connect to the SurveyLang Item Bank over the Internet and upload tasks to this central store. The Item Bank is the hub of the SurveyLang software suite where tasks can be stored, managed and refined throughout the lifespan of the project.
